this is for my science project

Why are panda bears endangered?windows

I had to do a panda report last year I might be wrong but I think China got all industrial by 2000 not like they werent before but I think I heard that they took down most of the natural habitats of the panda bear and now the Panda bear population relies on sanctuaries. I dont think they were hunted very frequently so that cant be it.

Pandas are simple rare. They were known to the world only in late 19th century. They eat only bamboo, and have low birth rate. They are rare. That is why they are endangered.
Although poaching is strictly forbidden by Chinese and International Law, it is still a problem.

However, the main factor is the low survivability of young Giant Pandas. Given that newborns weigh from 90-130 grams they are almost entirely dependent on the mother, and a mother panda usually only raises one cub at a time.

Couple that with low fertility in captivity and high rate of death in the wild and you get a recipe for being endangered.
The Panda is very picky on what they eat, there are over 200 species of Bamboo and they only eat certain ones.
