For example, the Panda Bar has 15g of fat (15g * 9kcal = 135kcals), 13g Carbs (granted, it says it has 18g sugars ???- let's just stick with the first number: 13g * 4 kcal = 52), and 3g of protein (3g * 4kcal = 12kcals).
Now, 135 + 52 + 12 =199 kcals, correct?
So, why does the bar say it has 230 kcals per serving? 31 kcals is QUITE a rounded leap if that's all it is. The majority are like this, are they just bad labels?
Why do the calories in Endangered Species Chocolate bars never even nearly equate with the actual nutrients?hijackthis
Remember also that a serving is always going to be oversized. It might say 200 grams on the packet but they could in reality weigh 230 so the company may just be covering itself. Also remember that fat protein and carbs are the only things they have to list on the packet, saturated fats have more energy than unsaturated etc.
