You'll often find this easy to make brown sauce accompanying popular Chinese dishes such as Beef with Broccoli.

3/4 cup beef broth (beef bouillion cubes can be used)

1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon oyster sauce

1 teaspoon dark soy sauce

1/2 teaspoon sugar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

maybe brown fish sauce? You can buy it at most asian grocery stores. It is used in a lot of Chinese and Thai dishes. It is salty and can be used in place of soya sauce and salt.
Similiar to above, I use about 11/2 C water, one boullion cube, 2Tbs soy sauce and 2tbs sugar. When it comes to a slow simmer, add 1Tbs cornstarch that has been dissolved in a little water. Stir until thickened.

It is very similiar to brown sauce in Chinese restaurants and it is great on dumplings.

But, I would be careful to not put too much soy sauce in the sauce as the boullion is already very salty (and loaded with MSG.)
That brown sauce is either plum sauce called hoisin or oyster sauce. Plum sauce is more sweet and thick. The oyster sauce is more smooth in texture and is salty in flavor. You can buy both in the supermarket.
It's soy sauce made from brown sugar and salt.
i dunno the recipe but you can get it at most grocery stores in the asian food section.
