I'm talking Harry Potter patronus here. If your patronus was say a panda which is endangered then it became extinct would your patronus change to a still livng animal? Can you have a patronus of an animal which is extinct like say a sabre toothed tiger???
Can someone have a patronus of an extinct animal?anti virus software
I would have thought that it would stay the same.

um, I'm not sure! You'd better ask JK Rowling about that!! I guess so though, cos a patronus represents you, and the extinct animal in question might suit you perfectly. We do know that patronuses(?) can change though, as tonk's turned into lupin, but I'm not sure! I think that the patronus would continue being what it originally was. Also, Dumbledore's patronus is a phoenix, and they don't exist, so... oh, hang on! They exist in HP!! hmmmm, I'm really not sure!! It's a VERY clever question though, I never really thought about it!!
The Patronus is based on the Elemental which guides the animal. If the Elemental agrees to manifest that form, that's one level; however, if the species is extinct, the physical level will be unrepresented.
"The Masters and Their Retreats," Mark Prophet, explains somewhat about Elementals.
"Alcatraz versus the Evil Librarians," Brandon Sanderson, is worthwhile for its humor.
My guess would be no. Just because the patronus animal became extinct in the real world, I don't think that the patronus shape would change. It sounds pretty unlikely that something like that would happen.
i think your patronus will remain the same. i guess because if that is still your soul's animal than that will be still be your patronus even after extinction.
I don't see why not. They have patronuses of mythical creatures so an animal being extinct shouldn't exclude it.
There's no reason why you can't, so yes, you can.
Why not?
