i double clicked the icon the panda icon and after about 2 mins, i say something like " panda cannot start up". this means it wont let me accept new programmes and check for viruses.

Have you tried rebooting? If this doesn't work, you may need to un-install and re-install the program - a bit of it may have become corrupted.
if its a trial version you have to buy it., or use another program
If it's not a trial version, than Uninstall and Reinstall it.
If that's not sucessfull try these steps.
